Visual split is the default, next to a shorter written-list option. The page cards are on top. Under them, each output file is a large box, and the next box sits to its right. Drag pages such as 1, 3, and 8 into a box. Inside the box they stay cards: drag them left or right to set that file's order. A page you never drop in is left out. The same page can go in more than one box. If you would rather type, one line is one file, and 11, 9, 10 stays in that order. With more than 20 pages the cards stay hidden unless you ask to see them. Extract-one-PDF and one-file-per-page are still lower on the page.
Processing runs in a Web Worker on this device after you press Split. We keep that work local so we do not pay to split every upload on our servers. By default the PDF is not uploaded. Each group downloads as its own file, named part-001.pdf and so on. There is no zip. Extract still saves one PDF. Explode still lists one download per page.

Extract writes one PDF that contains only the pages you listed, in that order. Explode writes a separate one-page PDF for each selected page. Choose extract when you want a single file; choose explode when you want one download per page. The main visual path builds several multi-page files by dragging pages into boxes instead.
No. Explode produces one PDF download per selected page, listed on this page. There is no zip archive and no bundled package. Save each page file you need. The same is true for visual split: each output file downloads on its own.
The current limits are 100 MB and 200 pages. Larger files are rejected with a clear error.
Encrypted PDFs and files that need a password to open are rejected with a clear error. Unlock the file on Unlock PDF first if you already know the open password or only need to clear a permission lock, then come back to split. This site does not recover or guess passwords.
